AGES: 7 to Adult PLAYERS:
2 to 6
OBJECT OF THE GAME: Be the first player to win 5 chips.
EQUIPMENT:
52 cards consisting of:
19 cards showing 1 chip
14 cards showing 2 chips
7 cards showing 3 chips
2 Stun plus cards showing 4 chips
2 Stun minus cards showing 2 chips
8 Stun cards
25 Plastic Chips
FIRST TIME PLAYERS OF STUN: We suggest playing the first game after reading all the instructions.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF PLAY: Each player in turn plays from the same Face Down card deck. The first player turns up 1 card at a time and tries to turn up enough cards with a total of 15 or more chips showing on those cards.
TO BEGIN:
1. Select a dealer by a fair method.
2. Remove the two Promotion Cards from the deck before shuffling. After shuffling place the deck on the table FACE DOWN. This is the DRAW PILE.
Put the plastic chips in the center of the table in a pile.
TO
PLAY:
1.
The player to the left of the dealer goes first. The first player
turns up 1 card at a time from the DRAW PILE. Most of the cards
in this game have chips pictured on the cards. The player counts
the chips on these cards and adds to the total for each card
turned up.
2. The player may continue to turn up cards and try to get a total of 15 or more. When the player reaches a total count of 15 or more, then the player trades in these cards for a plastic chip. The turned up cards are placed in a separate DISCARD PILE face up. The player may continue the turn by starting a new pile of turned up cards and counting to 15 again.
3. STUN CARDS: It a player turns up a STUN CARD during the turn, then the turn ENDS IMMEDIATELY. All cards turned up by the player in that turn are added to the DISCARD PILE.
4. A player may stop turning up cards at any time during the turn. If the player wants to stop, then the turn ends, but the player keeps all the cards turned up on his turn. These cards are kept in a separate pile by the player until his next turn. At that time the player starts to count from the total of these cards. These cards give the player a "head start" to 15 from his previous turn. If a STUN CARD Is turned up, these cards from the previous turn are "safe" and not lost to the Discard Pile.
STRATEGY HlNT: Since players want to get to 15 without getting a STUN CARD, try not to take too many Chip Cards during a single turn. The chances of gettinq a STUN CARD increase with each card turned up.
5. STUN PLUS CARD: If a player turns up this card during his turn, first it counts as 4 added to his count. Second, if the player is not in the lead or in a tie with plastic chips collected (remember - you need 5 to win), then he collects 1 plastic chip from ANYWHERE: either from the pile of chips on the table or any players chip that was collected.
The player may still collect the chip even if he is tied for the lead
If the player is the leader in plastic chips collected, then the player may use the card only to increase his count by 4.
6. STUN MINUS CARD: If a player turns up this card during his turn, the player may discard this card on any player's card pile (held over from a previous turn) and decrease the player count by 2. However. if there are no other players' piles on the table, then the player must use it on his own pile and decrease his count by 2. If the player has no cards as well, then the player must use it to start his count at MINUS 2.
7. When
a player's turn ends, he passes the DRAW PILE to the next player
to the left.
When the DRAW PILE is depleted, reshuffle the DISCARD PILE, turn
it FACE DOWN to make a new DRAW PILE.
WINNER: First player
to collect 5 plastic chips is the winner. For a shorter game,
play for 3 chips.
ADDITIONAL
RULES:
1. When a player turns up a STUN CARD, this only affects the
playees cards that were turned up for that turn. This does not
affect any plastic chips already collected by getting to
a count of 15 from previous turns.
2. If after getting to a count of 15 and collecting a plastic chip, a player may continue his turn by turning up more cards and starting a new count to 15. However, if the player then turns up a STUN CARD, the player loses all cards and any plastic chip(s) collected on that turn.
3. When it is your turn, if you TOUCH the draw pile, you MUST turn over the next card. If you want to stop, remember not to touch the draw pile and pass the deck to the next player.
4. A player MUST always play when it is his/her turn. No passing of a turn is allowed.
5. 2 CHIP RULE: When a player gets to a count of 15 and a STUN PLUS card was the last card played to reach 15 - If the player is not in the lead, then he/she would collect 2 CHIPS (One chip for reaching 15 and one chip for the STUN PLUS card).
6. When a player reaches a count of 15, the player may actually reach a count of 16, 17 or 18 depending on how many chips were on the last card played. These "extra" chips must be turned in with the rest of the cards to collect the plastic chip. The "extra" count over 15 has no special advantage.
7. ADVANCED PLAY RULE: For a more challenging game, if a STUN card is turned up on a players turn, the player must discard all cards in his pile including cards from any PREVIOUS TURNS. The cards are only "safe" when the player reaches a count of 15.
