| The Calm Before the Storm | | My Hometown Episode 2
This is what started everything…
Dawn is just a faint smear of color staining the dark horizon behind him. To the west, far beyond the lake’s great dark windowpane, the first flickers of the approaching thunderstorm pulsate a muted yellow inside the chests of the great storm leviathans reaching for the top of the sky.
A heavy stillness settles about the early morning as if God Himself dare not breathe.
This is Death’s Quiet.
Even the leaves dare not rustle.
Cyrus Ledbetter sits in his favorite lawn chair at the dock’s edge casting his line weighted with three clamps of lead shot and hooked with a big hunk of stew meat out into Tellers Lake. The lead weight is the size of an old cats eye shooter marble and is designed to take this bait clear to the bottom of the lake.
That’s where the bigguns live.
Both the stew meat and his breakfast of biscuits and sausage gravy come from Nick’s Dew Drop Inn. Nick’s gravy alone can qualify as its own food group. The doctors have told him to lay off the rich foods, but the way Cyrus sees it, if you can’t enjoy a good breakfast of Nick’s cathead biscuits and sausage gravy,...

| | Heroes and Comics | | There have been so many different comic books that have become movies, Electra, Dare Devil, X-men, Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four, Spawn, and a few i cant think of right now. but do you think that the people who came up with the series Heroes were thinking about the comic book characters when they put it together?
I mean think about it- mind readers, people who can fly or heal. Heroes is just a different spin off of old school comic books- maybe that is why i watch the show.
Perhaps they are planning on bring it to the big screen. Or perhaps coming out with a whole new movie from a comic book.
My question is though, can you put the comic book character to the Heroes character?
Wolverine would be Claire.
Professor X would be Matt.
Etc. Etc.
Lets see if there are true comic Fans out here in the mylot whirl pool.
| | My mother-in-law died on St Patrick's Day... | | I don't know if I should feel bad for this woman's death or not!! She was the spawn from Hell!! This woman made my husband's life horrible....most of his childhood was spent under the roof of friends or nieghbors. She made him choose between me and his
parents. They really wanted him to marry his ex-girlfriend( who had cheated on
him and bore another man's child )because she still came over to coffee clutch
with them after everything that happened. We haven't had any communication with them for 16 years. I tried to be fair with her at the beginning but she really was nothing but a trouble maker. She would
try her hardest to cause any problems possible between us. Calling when he wasn't around saying he was up to no good. Trying to make me mad at him so when he did
get home we would fight. When I told her politely not to call making trouble she
completely wigged out and screamed over the phone horrible things including the fact that I could keep my daughter too...then hung up! Now up to this point I
didn't have a problem with her taking her grandchild out and having time with her.Needless to say I never took the bait!! That made her more determined and not too...
| | Are you cynical and outspoken? | |
Of course you aren't. Then who would I be? But seriously, are you? Even just a little bit? This may come as a surprise but I wasn't always this way.I used to be quite soft spoken. I had long bottled within me a torrent of insults and demoralizing taunts that spawn into existence at the testing of my temperament. I usually withheld these deleterious words in spite of my cynical nature to keep with the wholesome and loving image I portrayed, but in doing so I allowed it to became the termite infestation that ate away at my soul. The it just happened one day, I had a breakthrough ... a fallout ... an all out witch-fest ... an epiphany; there was no wicked satisfaction derived from delegating my derogatory comments, but as I unleashed that pent up frustration that had accumulated in me since birth, I experienced a climactic release of anger and hatred, and it felt good ... really good ...Now I just don't hold anything in anymore. I think I will live longer because of it.I can be defined many ways and with many many adjectives. But I think cynical and outspoken top the list. How would you define you? If not cynical and outspoken, then what?

| | a breeder? how dare you assume im heterosexual?????????? | | Well, rarely for me i went out on the town last night. For a treat I went to an old gay bar i used to spend many a happy hour in. All the girls were there and it sounded like a real party was in swing, then one old - hehehe - friend asked me why i was there when i had a husband and kids. Well i was shocked at such blatent chavenism. Just because i met a male and had his spawn does not change me, I am still who i was before being impregnated, I still prefer sex with women and only ever have recreational sex with women, sex with a male is purely functional, nothing more. If I had been a colder person I could just as easily have used a turkey baister than a male. Now I find the term breeder offensive when it was spat at me in the way it was last night, im just Sue.
Am I wrong?
blessed be y good ...Now I just don't hold anything in anymore. I think I will live longer because of it.I can be defined many ways and with many many adjectives. But I think cynical and outspoken top the list. How would you define you? If not cynical and outspoken, then what?
| | Ship my pet to you?..... I don't think so. | | I'm annoyed. I want to slap these people. Slap them repeatidly & often. The situation. ( sorry, this gets long )
My family has an outside cat. My allergies prevent him from spending more time inside. A few months back we noticed he had a friend. A small kitten that we think may actually be his son showed up. This kitten was on the road to being ferrel. Whenever he saw somebody he'd shoot into the woods like a lightning bolt. My wife decided we needed to try to tame him. We borrowed a live trap & caught him after a couple days. He was then transfered to a kennel where my wife could work with him. Since the weather has turned chilly my wife brought him into the extra bathroom & he stays sealed up in there. He's come along nicely & is quite affectionate now ( so long as he's in the bathroom, it's his comfort zone ). Unfortunantly the effects on my allergies has built up & we need to find him a permanent home. We posted him on craigs list, freecycle & petfinder hoping someone locally would want him.Now here's the part that really annoys me. We've been getting emails telling us to ship our PET to someone out of state. Its a bloody form letter! What &$*$&*% would want a cat they...
| | Whats your favorite Iced Earth album? | | I would vote for dark Saga! A great album from the start to the end, with fast and slow songs, thundering rhymes, melody and great lyrics. The Spawn concept was a spectacular base for a spectacular album! I also liked Alive In Athens, as a live album it had everything anyone would ask for! | |
