parcheesi Discussions For Hobbies And Games
| | How many still play with non-computer games? | | Monopoly? Clue? Risk? Stratego? Parcheesi? Trivia? Scrabble? Yatzee? Uno? When was the last time you sat down with friends or family and had a great game without the distraction of TV or computer games? What did you play? | |
| | what's your favorite board game? | | when i was young, i always play monopoly with my cousins. we have different kinds of monopoly. we have monopoly (the standard), monopoly junior and monopoly new york. but i think my favorite board game before was cluedo. it's a murder mystery game. you have to find clues to solve the mystery and find out who the murderer is, where the victim was killed, and what the murder weapon is. but now, my favorite game is scrabble. i often play it with my mom. just the two of us. hehe.=) | |
| | things could get a little heated | | I love board games. I enjoy Scrabble, Parcheesi, Boggle, Yahtzee, Taboo, Monopoly, the list goes on. I'm not quite sure if Boggle and Yahtzee fall under the board game category. I just have a tiny (in my opinion) or big (in my boyfriend's opinion) problem when I play these games. I get very competitive. I don't like to lose and most times, I get really annoyed when I do. And yes, I do gloat a lot of times when I win. It doesn't matter if you're my boyfriend's mom or brother or if you're my own mother, I would try to beat you and would do it mercilessly. I should say that I'm competitive in real life, my rock needs to beat your scissors, my paper your rock... you get the rest. Are you like me? Or are you more into "playing the game is fun enough"?I should also note that at the start of every game, I always tell myself to be a good loser or a graceful winner, whatever the outcome might be. But I almost always end up being neither.:( | |
| | Playing the game wrong | | I have a game called Parcheesi that I played as a child and loved. And it has been that long since I played it, so when I got the game out recently to play, I still remembered a little how to play, yet I wanted to double check to make sure. Well, what a surprise, when I was younger I didn’t play by the rules, instead I played it differently than what it says on the box. It was confusing so I will probably continue to play it the way I thought it was played, but I may try it by the rules in the future. Is there a childhood game that you played that you didn’t play by the rules, but thought you did? | |
