Marble Fun

Marbles can be a ton of fun and are an important component in many bored games. You can use them to play Chinese checkers or to try to see how many of your components marbles you can knock out of a playing field. They can be a little tricky to use at first, but with some practice you can become an excellent shooter in no time.

Some people even collect marbles because of the way they look. Many glass marbles are extremely beautiful with mesmerizing designs inside. These are often created by using different colors of glass when making the marbles. When you collect marbles you will want to make sure you like the design and that they are well made and perfectly round. If they are not perfectly round they will not roll right. Also, if you find any cracks or chips in the surface (which can result from hitting them on another hard surface) they will not roll right and could break further. You also will have a selection of different sizes. There are some large beautiful marbles and some small marbles that are also pretty. It is simply a matter of preference and need.

One finally thing you may want to consider is a safty concern. Like all pretty objects, children may be very attracted to marbles. They roll and are smooth to the touch, which can be fun. However, if you have small children you should not let them use marbles until you feel they are old enough to not put them in their mouth. Besides picking up tons of germs from rolling over various surfaces, your child could swallow and chock on a marble. So be sure to provide enough supervision to small children to keep them safe.

You should also not use marbles for any unintended use that might be dangerous. An example of a dangerous unintended use would be using marbles in place of pie weights. Pie weights are ceramic where as most marbles are glass. If you put glass in any situation where it can reach such a high temperature it can be dangerous because they can explode
